Rashan, tell our readers a little about yourself.
It was a dark and stormy night……
Kidding! I was born in Pensacola, FL on the Naval Base. I moved around a bit but ended up in Washington, GA with my grandparents and finished high school there, where I lettered in Football, Basketball, and Track. I was also Senior Class President.
Where did you go to school?
I attended the Citadel for a year then transferred to Mercer University in Macon, GA. I have a degree in History.
What brought you in to the field of Internet marketing? What brought you to Sherpa?
I came to Sherpa as an Account Manager. I had experience with AT&T so I had to learn a lot on the fly. I was only a casual user of social media at that point.
Tell us one important lesson you’ve learned from working at Sherpa.
Change will happen. It is how you react to that change that will determine how you progress in an industry like this.
What do you most enjoy about social media? Do you have a favorite social platform?
I enjoy the ability to connect with people that I might not under any other circumstances. I think Twitter has become my favorite for that reason.
Tell about some of your interests/hobbies outside Sherpa? What’s something most of your friends and family know about you?
Huge sports fan! My friends and family know not to call when the Dallas Cowboys are playing. I’ll watch a Game 7 of anything!
I also like to play flag football and basketball whenever possible.
What kind of music/movies do you enjoy? Any favorite?
I’m all over the place with music. For movies, I like the superhero and science fiction genres. I think my favorite is The Dark Knight.
What would you most love to be doing in 10 years?
I have an idea for a book that I have been playing with so I would love to get that published and get a movie deal. Then scale it down and have a cartoon show for kids based on the book. Hey, why not!
